Industrial Infrastructure

  • Kerala has a total of 140 industrial parks managed by various key agencies like Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC), Kerala Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (KINFRA), Directorate of Industries and Commerce, and Kerala Small Industries Development Corporation Ltd (SIDCO).   • Recognizing the unique needs of different sectors, Kerala has established dedicated/ Sector Specific Parks that cater to specialized industries. These include Mega Food Park, Life Sciences Park, Food Processing Parks, Défense Park, Spices Park, Global Ayurveda Village, Rubber Park, Petrochemical Park etc.
  • Private Industrial Estate Scheme: To create more land assets for industrial development, Government of Kerala came up with a unique policy of providing development permits for entrepreneurs with large parcels. Any private player with more than 10 acres of land can start a Private Industrial Estate and there will be Government Subsidy of Rs. 3 cr. towards infrastructure development.   • Campus Industrial Parks: A novel scheme of Campus Industrial Parks is announced envisaging creation of Industrial Parks as a part of college campus, aiming to strengthen industry academia linkage. Details about the scheme are available in the link Link.
  • A new 1700+ acre Industrial Smart City is coming up in Palakkad district as a part of Kochi – Bangalore Industrial Corridor. Integrated Manufacturing Clusters (IMCs) are envisaged here to boost industrial activities.
  • KINFRA Global City with 350+ acres is envisaged near Aluva in Ernakulam District with an objective to develop a financial/business centre with state-of-the-art infrastructure to house Knowledge-based service sectors and hi-tech services.
